Ohio's Medicaid expansion under Governor Kasich was a landmark moment in Republican-led state health policy. The expansion was done through an executive decision bypassing the legislature. Ohio administers SNAP, Medicaid, TANF (called Ohio Works First), and childcare assistance through county Job and Family Services offices. Ohio has a state EITC equal to 30% of the federal credit. Applications can be submitted through the Benefits.Ohio.gov portal.
