Medicaid in Minnesota: Expanded
Minnesota expanded Medicaid in 2014 (called Medical Assistance). Minnesota also operates MinnesotaCare, a Basic Health Program for residents with income between 138-200% FPL who do not have access to employer coverage.
Benefits in Minnesota
Minnesota is one of two states operating a Basic Health Program (MinnesotaCare), which provides low-cost coverage for residents above Medicaid limits. Minnesota administers SNAP, Medical Assistance, MinnesotaCare, TANF (called Minnesota Family Investment Program or MFIP), and childcare assistance through the DHS and county agencies. Minnesota has a Working Family Credit — a state version of the EITC — that provides additional income support for working families.
