Benefits in Kentucky

Kentucky's Medicaid expansion had a dramatic impact on coverage rates in a state with historically high poverty and low insurance rates. The state administers SNAP, TANF (called Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program or KTAP), Medicaid, and childcare assistance through the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Kentucky also runs a state EITC supplement (8.5% of the federal credit) to help working families.
